Lissadell House, Gardens and Exhibition Hall are open to the public during the spring, summer and autumn seasons, and all year round for tour groups by appointment. Visitors can enjoy House Tours, Garden Visits, Countess Markievicz Exhibition, Tea Rooms and Heritage Shop. Lissadell is famous as the childhood home of Constance Markievicz, one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising, and the first woman Minister in a modern European democracy. Her brother Josslyn Gore Booth created at Lissadell one of the premier horticultural estates in Europe. Her sister Eva Gore Booth was a poet of distinction and an active suffragist.
