The tour starts on Sligo’s riverfront at the Riverside Hotel – this area was once known as Armstrong’s Row. Each guest on arrival receives a tour badge with the name of a person who was once connected to Sligo. Listen out as their stories will be told along the way. Whether there were good or bad at the time they lived, will be for you to decide. Judge Not, Lest ye be judged…
This tour is full of stories of real events involving crime, punishment and adult content features on this tour, so it’s not for the faint of heart. Older children are welcome but parental discretion is advised and children should be accompanied by an adult.

The Sligo Secret Scripture tour is a literary & local history tour based in Sligo town. The tour takes you back to Sligo from the turn of the twentieth century to 1930’s from the viewpoint of one semi-fictional family. The award-winning author and Laureate in Fiction Sebastian Barry, inspired by his family history set his novels in the town.
This tour will take you through the streets of Sligo where the characters walked, giving you a sense of the social history and heritage of the locations during this time.
