Sligo Live celebrates folk, roots, and indie music. Over the years it has carved out a niche as a relaxed, intimate and enjoyable music festival, attracting visitors from all over Ireland and abroad.
Sligo Live is one of the most relaxed, friendly and enjoyable music festivals in Europe, having hosted major international and Irish folk, roots and indie artists in intimate indoor venues for 12 years.
Sligo enjoys a unique and rare location on the Wild Atlantic Way with tranquil lakes and mountains on one side and the vastness and power of the ocean on the other.
The area is brimming with musicians who play the clubs, bars and cafes all year round. Within Ireland it is known as Music City Sligo. The festival is an opportunity to hear a select sampling of this enormous pool of talent alongside major international names and some of Ireland’s favorite musicians.
Past headliners include Van Morrison, Jools Holland, Sheryl Crow, Elvis Costello, Joan Armatrading and the Waterboys. These and many others have joined Irish acts like Altan, Dervish, Solas, Imelda May, Sharon Shannon, Martin Hayes, We Banjo 3, The Villagers and Sinead O’Connor in a feast of music.
Sligo Live welcomes all ages and is the perfect way to brighten up your autumn. With 100 performances by 400 musicians on over 20 stages during the six days – and with over 80% free of charge – your most difficult decision will be choosing which of the dozens of concerts and performances to see next!
